Jessica Porras
Administrative Assistant
Jessica is an administrative assistant at Hyper Regen Sports Medicine. She has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and a Master’s in public health from El Bosque University in Colombia. With 5 years of extensive experience across various health sectors, she is dedicated to providing exceptional patient service. Raised in a sports-oriented environment, Jessica is an amateur triathlete who regularly competes in both local and international events.
Johnny Sanchez
Administrative Assistant
Johnny Sanchez is a dedicated professional with a solid foundation in business management and a passion for effective communication. He holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and an MBA from Pfeiffer University, where he honed his skills in strategic planning, leadership, and organizational development. Currently, Johnny is expanding his expertise by studying Media Communication at Humber College, further enhancing his ability to engage with diverse audiences.
Shun Sakai CCPA, CAT(C), B.Sc.PA, B.S.S
Physician Assistant | Athletic Therapist
Shun is a Physician Assistant and an athletic therapist at Hyper Regen Sports Medicine. Shun has a Bachelor of Sports Science degree from Waseda University in Tokyo. He also holds an Athletic Therapist diploma from Mount Royal University in Calgary and a Physician Assistant degree from the University of Toronto.
He believes in a comprehensive approach to patient care. In his 8-year career as an athletic therapist, he worked in a sports medicine clinic in Edmonton to assist physicians with assessment and treatment planning. He also has experience in active rehabilitation. His belief in rehabilitation is to restore/improve functions and help patients to return to their goals.
As a Physician Assistant, he has worked at a sports medicine/Orthopedic clinic in Waterloo with multiple orthopedic surgeons specialized in knee, hip and shoulder. Shun will be involved in nonoperative care, pre-, peri and post-operative care as well as returning to sports/activities rehabilitation to assist all types of patients in the clinic.
Outside work, Shun appreciates an active lifestyle and has been involved in various sports. He enjoys working out, hiking, and playing basketball.
Lovepreet Bhatti MScPT, BSc
Registered Physiotherapist
Lovepreet completed his Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. Prior to that he completed his Bachelor of Science in Health Science from York University. Lovepreet has experience working within a variety of settings with a broad spectrum of populations including elite athletes. Growing up playing competitive sports, Lovepreet is very passionate about optimizing performance and motivating others to achieve their goals.
Since graduating, he has continued his education with courses in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Soft tissue release and advanced manual therapy. Lovepreet is actively working towards completing additional manual therapy courses and plans to obtain the Sport Physiotherapy certification.
Lovepreet takes an individualized approach to treating his patients. He uses a combination of manual therapy, soft tissue release, exercise prescription, cupping therapy, medical acupuncture and education to help clients reach their specific goals.
He has experience treating a variety of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions and enjoys working with athletes, weekend warriors and other sports enthusiasts.
Kelvin Chan MScPT, MPK, BKIN
Registered Physiotherapist | Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Kelvin is a patient-centered and compassionate professional, striving to collaborate with each client in achieving their goals. With a hands-on approach, he customizes treatment using diverse therapy techniques to cater to individual needs. Kelvin graduated with honors in Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Toronto in 2016 and further pursued a Master’s in Professional Kinesiology and Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the same university in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
He continuously expands his skills through courses in acupuncture, dry needling, and manual therapy. Certified in contemporary medical acupuncture by McMaster University, Kelvin is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. By combining neurofunctional acupuncture, manual therapy, and exercises, he aims to empower his clients through education and personalized treatment plans.
Outside of his professional life, Kelvin enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and staying active with gym workouts and swimming. He also has a keen interest in cooking and delights in hearing about his patients’ culinary experiences.
Nikita Komarov BKin, MScPT, CAT (c)
Registered Physiotherapist | Athletic Therapist
Nik completed his bachelor of Kinesiology and certificate in Athletic Therapy from York University. He went on to complete a MSc in Physiotherapy from McMaster University in 2011. Since then, he has practiced primarily in sports medicine, starting at Toronto FC (TFC) during the development of the clubs academy system. He went on to Canada Soccer working with the Olympic/U23 team during Rio 2016 Olympic qualification then moving on to the futsal program. More recently Nik has worked with Canada Basketball U23 program during the 2023 Globl Jam tournament. Currently, he is the staff physiotherapist with the University of Toronto track & field and water polo teams. He holds a FIFA Diploma in Football Medicine and level 3 of the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program. Nik regularly attends conferences on sports medicine and completed numerous courses, including certification in Functional Release (FR) and Functional Range Conditioning (FRC). He has a particular interest in post-operative care and return to sport rehabilitation. Nik volunteered as a therapist at the 2015 Toronto Pan and Parapan American Games, covering field hockey and visually impaired soccer, respectively.
Katelynn McPherson MScPT, BAScKIN
Registered Physiotherapist
Katelynn graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Prior to this she received her Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology from the University of Guelph and Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Humber College. Growing up playing competitive ice hockey, Katelynn has witnessed several minor and major injuries which has helped her understand the many challenges individuals face when recovering from an injury and returning to sport.
In her practice, Katelynn believes in the importance of collaboration in the rehab process. She works to educate each patient on the anatomy and biomechanics of the human body so that they can understand why injuries happen and how to prevent them. She enjoys working together with patients to develop an effective rehab plan targeted toward helping them return to what they enjoy most. Katelynn has experience working with pre and post op patients, athletes, youth and seniors. She is currently certified in Acupuncture and Dry Needling, and vestibular rehabilitation. In her spare time, Katelynn enjoys playing and coaching ice hockey, running, and hiking.
